Mobile Mob

Imagine looking at a white wall of a dust storm hearing something inside it coming at you. If that happens to you at Burning Man you have to be ready for everything and anything. It could be a giant metal dragon or an insect of the size of a house. This time it was what I call the Mobile Mob. Till this day I don't know what they were all about.

Burner Portrait VIII

It's starting to annoy me how Wordpress reduces saturation and contrast while downscaling images. When you click on this one, you can see that the original image is much more vivid. With some photos it's not harming much, but with a picture like this one I think it's a big deal. Any of you writing photo blogs? Any experience with this? (update: problem solved)

To hitch a ride

I thought it's time for another Burning Man picture. It's been a while. For those of you who are thinking of becoming a Burner this year: ticket sale started last Monday. This year for the first time people get the chance to to buy tickets via a random selection. If the lottery spits one out for me, I will be there this year.If you are going for the first time, let me tell you that you will find yourself in a (temporary) city of 50,000 people. This is large considering there are no means of transportation besides walking and riding the bicycle you might have brought along. However, there is one other way: if a mutant vehicle crosses your way, chances are high you are welcome to hop on. Then you can just hope it will bring you where you want to go. And if it doesn't? Who cares? Where ever it will bring you, you will see something new and exciting inviting you to have a good time.
