Beautiful Tromsø

Steffi and I are hunting for aurora borealis up here in the north of Norway. Conditions seemed perfect when we started planning this trip a couple of weeks ago: lots of activity reported and clear skies almost all January and February. Now we get here at a time when the sky should be clearest and see nothing but overcast and lots and lots of rain. As unfortunate as it sounds, it's still a very charming place to visit. We still have a couple of days, so not all hopes for seeing the lights have been given up yet.BeautifulTromso

Payret

When I was in Cuba I found it curious that receiving U.S. television was illegal but American movies were shown in the theaters (this one must be 'You Don't Know Jack' with Al Pacino). When I asked my guide about it, he explained to me that no happy U.S. movies were ever playing and that only the dark ones with depressing topics been selected. I can't say if I was told the truth, but my source did sound very trustworthy.Payret

New Design and New Portfolio

Finally this website got a new design and another -more selective- portfolio structure. I'm a bit late with writing this post...by now you might have already noticed that everything looks a bit different on here. If not, welcome! Feel free to go on a little tour. I'll be posting a couple more projects to the portfolio soon. Two new picturesWhile putting together this new portfolio I dug out two pictures that I haven't showed on the blog before. To bring this back in balance I'm posting them now. Here they are. The first one is a landscape from Iceland that you can find in the series "HURRY UP WE ARE DREAMING!"The second one is a street photo from Havana. It found a home in the series "THE FORGOTTEN ISLAND."Wow, when I say "series" and call them by their titles...it does sound a little over important. Well, it's not. I just really enjoy creating. I get unsatisfied when I consume for too long without creating and contributing something. So here we go:Gullfosscar

Those who wander are never lost

A sentence I read somewhere years ago and has been stuck in my mind ever since. It got stuck because it sounds so smart, bold and confident to me and at the same I just don't understand it.
Why? Because I often wander and when I do I'm constantly lost. And I love that. One could almost say that I wander for the sake for being lost. uhm...wait...I think I just got it.
